ME KEY TEST is a free, browser-based hardware diagnostic platform. We help millions of users test, diagnose, and understand their devices — without installing a single piece of software.
We started Mec Key Test after repeatedly searching for quick, trustworthy ways to verify our own hardware — before video interviews, after driver updates, or when suspecting a hardware fault.
The existing tools were either gated behind apps, cluttered with dark patterns, or technically unreliable. We decided to build the diagnostic lab we always wished existed.
Today, Mec Key Test offers 25+ precision tools covering webcam, microphone, mouse, keyboard, display, and browser diagnostics — all free, all private, all instant.
Camera resolution, FPS, audio waveform
CPS, polling rate, accuracy, drag-click
Typing WPM, latency, key press tester
Dead pixels, refresh rate, color blindness
Every decision we make is guided by respect for our users and a commitment to quality.
All tests run entirely in your browser. We never transmit audio, video, or keystroke data to our servers. Your hardware data stays local.
We leverage Web APIs — WebRTC, Web Audio, requestAnimationFrame — to deliver accuracy that rivals native apps, without any install.
Every tool is fully accessible without signing up. No paywalls, no mandatory registration, no lock-in. Just open and test.
DeviceProbe is and will always be free to use. We keep the lights on through non-intrusive advertising.
DeviceProbe uses modern browser APIs to interface directly with your hardware. The WebRTC API powers camera and microphone access. The Web Audio API drives our audio tools. High-resolution performance timers measure click and keystroke latency. requestAnimationFrame measures your display refresh rate.
All processing happens locally in your browser. No data leaves your device. We couldn’t access your webcam footage or audio recordings even if we wanted to — the architecture doesn’t allow it.
All 25+ tools are free and ready to use — no sign-up required.
